There’s this place.
I almost don’t want to tell you about it because it’s so good and I want it to be all mine but that would qualify me as quite selfish, now wouldn’t it?
It’s called Painters.
Painters is my favorite restaurant in the world, and no matter how many I go to I’m sure it always will be. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is unique, the service is overly friendly, the music is fun, and the memories, oh they’re just awesome.
I had this salad there a few weeks ago that made me feel like a grown up it was so fancy. My normal salad is romaine with cucumbers and peppers and balsamic. This salad was spring greens with thin slices of green apples, bits of brie, and walnuts tossed in a spectacular red wine vinaigrette. (side note, in the process of recreating this salad an entire bottle of red wine vinegar spilled all over the trunk of my car- the day i had the carpets shampooed. isn’t life just funny sometimes? don’t fret though, i realized that the lining comes out and now it’s all good and clean in there.)
I needed to make this salad at home. I neeeeeeded to. But I don’t love walnuts and I like brie, but I like cheddar a lot more. So I made it spun it up a bit.
Painters Inspired Salad
what you need:
a green (spring greens)
an apple (honey crisp)
a cheese (extra sharp cheddar)
a nut (sliced almonds)
a dress (I made this rwv)
I like to wear heels when I’m eating this salad. It just feels right.
Enjoy

Audrey

Oh but I love the interior of your Painters restaurant! So much to enjoy while you are there, no wonder you love this place. Your version of their salad looks great as does that homemade RWV!
Would have loved to have seen a shot of your heels ;)
